Evin Hutton

Head Coach Evin Hutton – I graduated from Bob Jones University and was saved at the age of 7. I rededicated my life to Christ in my Freshman Year at Bob Jones and have enjoyed my daily walk with Him since. I met my lovely wife in college and have been married for 22 years. We have been blessed with two kids that also enjoy playing sports. I truly enjoy all sports and have been blessed to play several of them. I’ve coached sports over the past several years which include baseball, softball, soccer, basketball and volleyball. As a coach, I believe teaching kids how to be honoring to Christ and being good leaders while playing sports is very important. One of my favorite verses, is 1 Peter 5:6-7; it helps ground me during games and everyday life when I really want to win.

William Lincoln

Assistant Coach Bill married his high school sweetheart 27 years ago, lives in Plymouth MI, and has 6 kids. Bill has served in various roles at Oakpointe Church (in Novi) over the last 15 years, including men’s ministry, life group leader, 4/5th grade shepherd, middle school shepherd, and their drama ministry. Bill grew up playing football, baseball, wrestling, and tennis, and enjoys playing all sorts of sports even today (but a lot slower). He was captain of his wrestling team in high school and was assistant wrestling coach after high school for 2-years. As he had kids, he helped coach a season of football and soccer. Having grown up playing so many sports, Bill is very competitive. But his fondest memories of his sports experience are his interactions with his wrestling coach. It was his wresting coach that showed him how to push his body/mind and to choose to do honorable actions over selfish ones. That coach led Bill to the Lord the summer of 1990, and Bill has forever been changed since. He thanks Coach Butler for that pressure to be “better” and to serve God, to this day. Bill served in the Army as a Combat Engineer, graduated from Eastern Michigan University, and helps manage a construction company. Bill and his family are new to the Firebirds. 4 of his 6 kids are playing. They started mid-year last season and has enjoyed experiencing how the Firebirds balance highly competitive play with kindness/love to others.
